Marshall Brennan is an associate editor for Nature Chemistry. He earned a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Texas at Austin (All views are the author’s and in no way represent those of his employers past or present). A New Englander at heart, MB is constantly astounded by the culture of the chemistry community.
MB has held several positions in industry as a synthetic organic chemist, in addition to a variety of academic placements. Expect rants on current organic and organometallic literature, discussions of lab technique and safety, and comments on life as a graduate student in an R1 university.
